As a college educator, Jennifer teaches at both traditional universities and community colleges.  She earned a doctorate degree in Higher Education with a specialization in curriculum design and teaches communication courses in media theory, media writing, and public speaking. Dr. Cusumano’s academic pursuits have led her to develop a communication skills assessment for would-be communication majors and her research in assessment earned her a Top Paper Award from the National Communication Association. She hopes to develop a faculty manual for designing and evaluating communication assessments.

In her creative pursuits, Jennifer continues to write fiction and poetry independently.
